The Society of Lifestyle Medicine of Nigeria (SOLONg) invites clinicians, public health professionals, academicians and other health-related professionals to submit their scientific papers, abstracts and poster presentations for presentation during the forthcoming 2nd International Lifestyle Medicine Conference (Abuja 2019).


This year's conference comes up on 29th and 30th November, 2019. The theme is: LIFESTYLE MEDICINE: Revolutionizing the Management of Chronic Diseases in the 21st Century, while the sub-theme is: 'The Emergence of Epigenetics in The Management of Chronic Diseases'.

Lifestyle Medicine is the use of evidence-based lifestyle therapeutic approaches, such as a plant-predominant dietary lifestyle, regular physical activity, adequate sleep, stress management, avoiding use of risky substances and pursuing other non-drug modalities, to treat, reverse and prevent chronic disease.

Topics are encouraged to centre on the pillars of Lifestyle Medicine; namely:

  • Diet and Nutrition

  • Exercise/Physical Activity

  • Stress Management

  • Sleep

  • Cessation of Tobacco and other unhealthy habits

  • Social connectedness

Each applicant can only be first author for only one paper but may co-author several.
All authors must approve the abstract before submission.
Any affiliations or financial interests that can have a bearing on the subject matter presented must be identified and highlighted.

Submitted papers will be reviewed by the conference scientific committee.
